My story:
I was born in a small town on the East coast of South Africa, but mostly I grew up in Cape Town. I spent a lot of time outdoors and in the ocean. Eventually, I spent enough time at a desk to graduate from Africa’s top university, the University of Cape Town with a BSc in Psychology and Oceanography. In 2004 I moved to the UK and began a new life here.
Much of my early career was spent in the IT & Telecoms sector, precipitated by the dotcom boom. I spent over a decade working for large FTSE-listed corporates before taking a career break to do a Master of Business Administration at Cranfield University. Thereafter I spent some time in Management Consulting, before co-founding an Executive Search business and moving to the coast in Devon.
I then completed an MSc in Executive Coaching with Henley Business school, which inspired an even greater journey. I am now a student (once again) on a Doctoral programme at Exeter University to train as a clinical psychoanalytic psychotherapist.
